The Municipality of Tantramar is committed to maintaining reliable and affordable utility services while planning for the future. As our community grows and infrastructure ages, we must adjust our rates to ensure sustainable operations and necessary upgrades.

Utility rate adjustments

To continue providing high-quality water and sewer services, we are gradually adjusting rates to reflect rising operational costs and the need for future infrastructure improvements. These adjustments will ensure that we can meet growing capital needs, including essential sewer treatment and lift station upgrades.

Sackville Utilities

For small residential users, quarterly billing rates will increase gradually from $126.60 in 2022 to $163.00 in 2026. Despite these adjustments, Sackville will maintain some of the most competitive utility rates in New Brunswick. For larger consumers such as apartment buildings and commercial properties, percentage-based rate adjustments will be applied annually, ranging from 3.54% in 2022 to 3.10% in 2026.

Dorchester Utilities

Dorchester residents will see annual billing adjustments from $715.00 in 2023 to $858.79 in 2026. Quarterly payment options are also available, with rates increasing incrementally over the same period. Larger consumers will see percentage-based rate adjustments between 6.7% in 2024 and 5.9% in 2026.

Flexible payment options

To help residents manage their finances, water bills are issued quarterly. For those who prefer to streamline their payments, an annual payment option is available. Dorchester residents also receive a 5% discount if their bill is paid by the due date.

By adjusting our rates gradually and responsibly, we are ensuring the long-term sustainability of our water and sewer systems while keeping services affordable for our residents.
