The Municipality of Tantramar is committed to obtaining supplies, materials, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner. We regularly procure goods and services through tenders and requests for proposals, which are advertised online and on our website. Our goal is to ensure high-quality products and services at the most competitive prices, with a transparent and fair process for all suppliers.
Public tendering is used in the following cases:
- Goods valued at $25,000 or above
- Services valued at $50,000 or above
- Construction valued at $100,000 or above
Please note that prices do not include applicable taxes.
For goods and services under these thresholds, the Municipality obtains quotations to maintain competitive pricing. All departmental expenditures, including those exceeding $6,000 (or $25,000 for Public Works), require approval through a motion of the Municipal Council.
All tenders and requests for proposals are posted on the New Brunswick Opportunities Network (NBON) for at least 15 calendar days. In addition to the NBON, we may also use newspaper advertisements and our website to notify the public.
We encourage vendors to register for free on the NBON online system to stay informed about procurement opportunities.
