Dan Steeves
Born in Riverview, New Brunswick in 1959, Dan Steeves received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Mount Allison University in 1981. In that year he also became Printmaking Technician in the Department of Fine Arts at Mount Allison, a position he would occupy until 2020. In 1991 he also became a part-time lecturer in the Department.
Throughout his working life, Dan has been a prolific creative artist, producing hundreds of intaglio prints and winning widespread recognition for excellence in his field. His works have been exhibited at more than 70 galleries across Canada and the United States and as far afield as the United Kingdom, Italy, Ukraine, China, Japan, and Korea. His work has been featured in more than thirty publications, and he has been the recipient of more than twenty prestigious honours, including the Strathbutler Award for excellence in the arts, and election, in 2011, to the Royal Canadian Academy for the Arts.
