Worksite Incident at Dorchester Fire Hall Construction Site

TANTRAMAR, NB – On November 27, 2025, there was a worksite incident at 3508 Cape Road Dorchester NB, which is the site for the new Dorchester Fire Hall. The incident involved the roof trusses collapsing, but thankfully, there were no injuries.

WorkSafeNB, the Contractor and the Architect will collaborate to investigate the cause, initial information gathering indicates that high winds could have been a factor in the collapse of the trusses. The site remains the responsibility of the Contractor until completion. As with all builds, the contractor's work is inspected to ensure adherence to the building code, which ensures our facilities are safe for both public and staff.

It is a common experience to have project delays during a large-scale project, and we are looking forward to the resolution of this matter and resuming our timeline with this project that will enhance Tantramar Fire Service delivery.
