    RE: Tantramar Welcomes New Director of Protective Services

    After an extensive recruitment and interview process, Tantramar is pleased to announce Daniel Dupuis as the successful candidate for the Director of Protective Services position, effective May 11, 2026.

    In this role, Director Dupuis will be responsible for overseeing Tantramar’s Protective Services Department, including Fire Services Delivery, By-law Enforcement Services, Emergency Management Operations and Animal Control, to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents and visitors of the municipality.

    Director Dupuis brings over 20 years of experience in the Fire Service, most recently as the Deputy Chief of Dorchester Fire Department, and formerly with Memramcook Fire. Moving up through the ranks in each of these departments, he is a highly respected and hard-working leader. He has numerous Fire certifications, including his International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) Professional Seals -  Instructor level. Dupuis is an Instructor with NBCC Miramichi. As an Instructor, he has trained over a 1,000 Fire Fighters in the province for duty under his time. Dupuis is also an executive member of Southeastern Firefighters’ Association (SEFFA).

    Director Dupuis has over a decade in Senior Management roles from his full-time employment, excelling in areas like change management, strategic leadership, community engagement, organizational leadership, financial management, and team development gained from both his experience in the volunteer fire service as well as his full-time career. Director Dupuis is experienced in leading large teams and has a people-centered approach, acting as a mentor to his teams, leading to high performing teams and employee retention.

    Daniel Dupuis will begin the new role on May 11, 2026, at which time he will step down from his role as Deputy Chief and member of the Dorchester Fire Department.
