During the winter months, the Municipality of Tantramar is committed to ensuring that streets and sidewalks are cleared efficiently to maintain safe and accessible routes for residents and emergency services. While specific snow removal schedules and priority routes may vary, the municipality strives to address main roads and emergency routes promptly, followed by residential streets and sidewalks. The goal is to facilitate safe travel for all, even during heavy snowfall.

Overnight winter parking ban

To assist with effective snow removal, an overnight winter parking ban is in effect annually from December 1 to May 1. During this period, parking is prohibited between 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily on all streets and in municipal parking lots. Vehicles parked during these hours may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.

How you can help keep Tantramar moving

Residents can contribute to efficient snow removal by:

  • adhering to the overnight parking ban to allow unobstructed access for snowplows.
  • refraining from shovelling or blowing snow onto streets or sidewalks, which can hinder clearing efforts.
  • ensuring sidewalks on and near their properties are clear of snow and ice, promoting pedestrian safety.
