Bruce Harper was a master of high school and junior football in the late 1980’s. In 1989, he rushed for 1762 yards and scored 27 touchdowns in 6 games — a record that still stands in the annals of NBIAA Football. Bruce played for the St. Leonard Cougars in Quebec’s Major Junior Football League. He was the teams’ MVP and won the Leagues’ rushing title and was named a 1st Team All-Star. Bruce excelled in hockey through the Sackville Minor system, the Tantramar Titans and a season with the Amherst Ramblers of the Maritime Junior A League. His remarkable speed, agility and competitive nature set him apart from other athletes in his age group.
