The Municipality of Tantramar is proud to recognize two community champions celebrated at the Fall Fair Opening Ceremonies.

Tantramar Citizen of the Year: Jonelle Mace

Jonelle Mace is known for her steady commitment to community life in Tantramar. Her volunteer leadership with organizations such as Rotary and the local food bank reflects a service-first approach that brings people together, addresses local needs, and inspires others to get involved. Colleagues and neighbours describe Jonelle as humble, inclusive, and action-oriented, with deep pride in this place she now calls home.

MTA Youth Citizen of the Year: Patrick Barnhill

Patrick Barnhill is a fourth-year Mount Allison University student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce with a minor in Political Science. He has contributed to student life and town-gown relations as a residence Community Representative, Campus Ambassador, and volunteer hockey coach. As Director of Entertainment & Activities and Shinerama Campaign Chair with the Students’ Union, Patrick worked with local businesses toward a $20,000 goal for cystic fibrosis research and care, helping make the campaign one of the most successful in Canada. He has supported community events through the Sackville Legion, Orientation Crew and Committee, and organized a Canada Day charity BBQ that raised over $750 in Sackville and Dorchester.

The Municipality of Tantramar would like to give a big round of applause to both Jonelle and Patrick for all they do to make our communities shine!
