Colin McCabe began his serious running career in 1979 at the age of 48. From that time to 2002 he ran in almost 300 sanctioned races around the world including 14 marathons. His best marathon finish came in Boston with a time of 3:25:18 in 1989. Colin won numerous medals for his age category including gold at the 1981 Canadian 20 km Championships, silver in the 1988 Canadian Masters 10 km and gold in the 1996 Canadian Masters Half Marathon.
