    For over five decades, Earl has developed athletes, coaches and officials at all levels of sport. Earl played competitive hockey from 1954-66, winning six Atlantic Senior championships and was invited to several NHL training camps. He later spent 11 years working as a trainer with NHL training camps and spent time with both Soccer Canada’s and Ski Canada’s Olympic training and development programs. Earl has also officiated competitive hockey, basketball, volleyball, aquatics, water polo, track and field, and softball. Returning to Sackville in 1994, Earl helped coordinate the junior golf program for seven years and coached many Sackville Minor Hockey teams. He is a past recipient of a special commendation for his work and dedication to sporting events at CFB St. Jean; a base commander’s commendation from CFB Comox for his outstanding community sports efforts; coach of the year from Sackville Minor Hockey; a Central Midget Hockey League fair play award; and a life membership award from the Sackville Legion for his years of dedication to the Sackville Bantam Hockey Legionnaires.
