Blessed with great athletic ability, Gail (Burns) LeBlanc excelled in softball, basketball, volleyball, field hockey and soccer. In a span of ten years she represented New Brunswick in three National competitions in softball and competed at the National level in basketball as well. She was a key contributor to seven provincial softball teams and served as captain on six, three of whom won Eastern Canadian Titles. While playing basketball for Mount Allison University she was the team’s leading scorer for four years, captained the team for three years, won two AUAA scoring titles, lead the nation in scoring in 1982 and was twice selected as Conference All-Star.
