Cycling is a fun way to experience the natural beauty and open landscapes of Tantramar. From peaceful rural roads winding through farmland and marshes to multi-use trails like the Tantramar Trail, cyclists of all ages and abilities can find space to ride, breathe, and explore.

Roads and trails

Whether you're heading along the beautiful Cumberland Basin on the 935 towards Rockport, or checking out farm fields and wooded scenes on the way to Midgic, Tantramar has the perfect layout to cycle as far or as little as you like.  The Marches Trail will take you all the way from Sackville to the Confederation Bridge, and is a beautiful and peaceful ride.  Explore the marsh at sunrise; coast through farmland at midday; cruise past ridge lines as the sun sets. However you roll, Tantramar’s landscape makes every ride special.

The Sackville Bike Co-op, operated by the Mount Allison Students’ Union, offers bike rentals and promotes cycling within the community. It’s an excellent resource for those looking to explore Sackville and its surroundings on two wheels.

Do you know a senior who misses their bike, or perhaps someone with physical limitations who have never been on a bicycle?  Tantramar has an accessible bike that can be borrowed for day use, free of charge.  It just requires a little bit of training before hitting the trails.  Contact m.pryde@tantramarNB.com for more details.

Cycling events

For competitive cyclists or those interested in multi-sport events, the Sackville Triathlon, hosted by TriNB and the Sackville Swim Club, is an annual event that welcomes both beginners and experienced athletes. This well-organized race features a flat, fast course that showcases the scenic beauty of the area.
