Tantramar’s By-law Enforcement team plays an important role in supporting the safety and well-being of our community. By-laws are local rules that help ensure everything from noise levels to property standards to pet control are handled in a way that protects residents and promotes good neighbourly conduct.

Helping keep our communities safe, clean, and respectful

If you have concerns about a by-law issue—such as noise, illegal dumping, unsightly premises, or other infraction—you can report it to our By-law Enforcement Officer during regular business hours by contacting the Tantramar Municipal Office.

After-hours contacts

  • Emergency? Always call 911.
  • Summer months only (June to mid-September): Call 506-540-1722 to reach a Municipality of Tantramar By-law Enforcement Officer outside regular business hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
  • All other non-emergencies year-round: Call the RCMP non-emergency line at 1–800–665–6663.

Our team works to resolve issues fairly and promptly, and we appreciate your help in keeping Tantramar a safe and respectful place to live, work, and visit.
