Councillor
Allison Butcher was born and raised in Sackville, where she has lived her entire life apart from living in Ottawa during the 1990s. After graduating from Tantramar Regional High School, she attended the Nova Scotia Teachers College in Truro, N.S., where she received her Early Childhood Education diploma and a certificate in Special Education.
Allison has worked in early education for 37 years, and has been working as an educator at Playschool Inc. since 2003. She and her partner Andy are parents to two young adults who they love spending time with, and spends lots of time with her large extended family. Allison loves being outdoors, especially at her family’s trailer on the beach in Cape Spear. Her quiet time is mostly spent reading.
As a councillor, Allison looks forward to working together to ensure Tantramar is a place where people live safely, comfortably, and happily, to balance what makes it special with the welcoming of new ways to grow, and to ensure issues are addressed and dealt with effectively.
