Alyssa Greene was born in Sackville, and is the ninth generation of her family to call Tantramar home. She grew up in Frosty Hollow with three sisters, and has five nephews and one niece who were also born and raised in Tantramar. She now lives in Dorchester.
After graduating from Tantramar Regional High School in 1992, Alyssa studied at university before enrolling in the Culinary Institute of Canada at Charlottetown’s Holland College. Working as a Red Seal Chef for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts for 20+ years, she worked and travelled extensively across Canada and Australia, and later worked for around 10 years in the Canadian Arctic as a Chef and Medic at Mineral Exploration Camps. For the last 17 years, she has worked for Canada Post. Outside of work, Alyssa often spends time with family as she fulfills her role as aunt, and can often be found baking and cooking with her mother, in the garden, swimming or reading.
As a councillor, Alyssa is committed to representing the needs of her community as directed by the people that live here. Her goal is to bring the voices of her community to Council chambers and ensure concerns, questions and goals of communities in Tantramar are considered and recognized.
