Barry Hicks

Barry Hicks is a member of the first council for the new entity of Tantramar. A life-long resident of Tantramar, he was born and raised in British Settlement, where he has lived for all of his 65 years. With deep roots in the community, he is passionate about preserving its heritage while helping to shape a sustainable future.

Barry and his wife, Rhonda, share a busy family life with their four children, six grandchildren, and their sassy little chihuahua, Ellie. After more than 40 years with the Town of Sackville’s Public Works Department, Barry retired in 2017. He spent two decades as a heavy equipment operator before joining the management team as Superintendent of Public Works.

In his free time, Barry enjoys riding his motorcycle, driving his side-by-side, and hunting. Depending on the season, you’ll find him either at the family cottage in Slacks Cove or at his hunting camp, making the most of Tantramar’s great outdoors.
