Barry Hicks is a lifelong resident of Tantramar, where he was born, raised, and continues to live in the community of British Settlement. He and his wife, Rhonda, enjoy a busy family life with their four children, eight grandchildren, and their spirited Chihuahua, Ellie.
Following a lengthy career spanning more than 40 years with the Town of Sackville Public Works Department, Barry retired in 2017. He spent 20 years as a heavy equipment operator before advancing to the management team, where he served as Superintendent of Public Works. Outside of work, Barry exploring the outdoors through motorcycling, side-by-side adventures, and hunting. During the summer months, he can often be found at the family cottage in Slacks Cove, taking full advantage of the natural beauty and recreational opportunities that make Tantramar a special place to call home.
As a councillor, Barry is committed to preserving Tantramar’s rich heritage while helping to build a strong and sustainable future for generations to come.
